A new show titled POKE! curated by Jennifer Ward,’s exhibition coordinator, hosts a verity of “Social Media” art pieces, including a piece by Piana, a Houston based artist, titled Journal of the Collective Me, an ever-changing Web project that displays random tweets and status updates that include the word “me.”

Another piece by artist, David Oresick edits together YouTube footage posted by U.S. soldiers in a before and after pairing highlighting troops’ activity while stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan with troops’ activity after returning home.

This show demonstrates the presence of social media within all of our lives, it’s ever-presence as a vehicle for advertising, education and conceptual art. CNN
