Pinnacle Syrah – Wine Label Design

Syrah a.k.a. Shiraz in Australia, is the noble red grape of the northern Rhone Valley. It is a dark-skinned grape grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce powerful red wines. Whether sold as Syrah or Shiraz, these wines enjoy great popularity in the marketplace.

Pinnacle Brokers of Walnut Creek, California (a commercial insurance broker) wanted to offer a token of their appreciation toward the loyalty of their clients. In so doing they purchased bottled wine from Sierra Vista Winery in Placerville California. Trefethen Studios designed a private label for a December bottling of SVW’s ‘09 Syrah.

The final wine label design consisted of both Carl’s authenticity and personable approach to his business as connoted in his signature, and the ISU Pinnacle Brokers trademark brand.

The wrap-around label reduced the cost of printing and bindery fees. By combining both the front and back label content we were able to further decrease the cost of the overall project.

The project was printed by Landmark Label in Fremont California, using Neenah Paper’s Classic Crest Cotton Rag Label Stock, and a clear spot foil over the mountain image for an added level of sophistication.
